Guided Paths often have many steps with similar or identical content. The “Clone Step” and “Re-Use Step” options are valuable tools that help Designers maintain efficiency while creating these repeated steps.

Clone Step

Designers can create an exact duplicate of an existing step with the “Clone Step” option. This allows Designers to save time by eliminating redundant actions when creating identical or similar steps.

Navigate to the desired step.

Right click the step and click on “Clone Step”

The editor creates a new step with the original step’s content, and opens the “New Step” dialogue to allow Designers to make any desired changes.
Re-Use Step

Designers can eliminate repeated edits to identical steps by using the “Re-Use Step” option while creating the Guided Path. When Designers duplicate steps using “Re-Use Step”, the editor synchronizes their content whenever a Designer changes one instance of the step.

Navigate to the desired step.

Right click the step and click on “Re-Use Step”

The editor creates a new step with the original step’s content and a number to designate their order in the Guided Path. Any change made to any Re-Used step’s content applies to all instances of the step.
